About Us
I am a BUILDER. I’ve always been interested in building, fixing, improving, dreaming, conjuring and problem solving to make the most out of everything I have. I learned mechanics, woodworking, jewelry making and other detail oriented/work with your hands skills in high school. I leveled up those skills in college with a Manufacturing Engineering* degree, custom fabrication of a Baja Bug with a Subaru engine and transmission, and designing/fabricating the suspension system for the BYU SAE Baja Competition. After four years of working in the mainstream engineering industry as a Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer and Process Engineer, it was clear that is wasn’t going to be a long term option. That lead me to explore home building as a Superintendent for two years. I was hooked. I loved it. I was gaining high value/high use knowledge that I could share with my friends, family and community. There was only one problem. I had my hands tied. I couldn’t use that knowledge to its fullest extent. I couldn’t be completely open, honest, and transparent. I also couldn’t help my customer get the most for their money. So I decided to change that. I designed and built two homes on my own and now I am here. I am building once again. This time though, I am not building a product, but a lifestyle. I am in it for the long haul. I want this to last for as long as I can. I don’t want to “retire” until I am forced to by forces outside of my control or that I can’t problem solve my way through.
My plan: Bring value to every relationship I have. Be open and honest about every scenario, good, bad, and ugly. Invest in my reputation and brand. Build up others and serve them whenever and wherever possible. Share my knowledge. Be kind and courteous but be firm and confident. Use my success to build infrastructure for others so that their path to success might be a little bit easier. There is always a solution that creates a win-win-win. Money is a tool, not the end goal. Invest in educating my customers, it will lead to them understanding the value I can bring to their projects. Not all customers are my customers. Finally, if I can’t find a win-win-win for my customers with me, help them to find a trustworthy company that can create a win-win-win in as many situations as possible.
*Manfacturing Engineering= Designing and building the systems and processes that build the products. Effectively, learn how to build anything, while making it feasible, cost effective, and high value for the customer and the company that produces it.
